Our Mission
Open since 1994, we are Slidell's oldest dive shop. Our mission is to train divers that are qualified not just certified. We are proud to be a PADI 5 Star facility, offering small and private scuba classes for more personal training. Our focus is on certifying divers who are not only comfortable in the water but exhibit excellent buoyancy control skills, trim and environmental awareness. We take great pride in the divers we train and many of the divers that take our basic certification continue on to higher levels of training. As a full service dive shop Coral Reef offers equipment sales, service and rentals, air and nitrox fills and rentals and much more.

II fell in love with water at an early age and can't remember a time when I couldn't swim. When "Sea Hunt" made it's debut on TV I knew that scuba diving was going to be part of my life.The nearest I came was snorkeling at the Jersey shore while on summer vacations .In 1990 I got a scuba course for a birthday present and once I was certified, diving took over all my spare time. If I wasn't diving I was reading about it. I wanted to share my new passion with the world so I became an instructor. Diving is important to me and training good divers is the most important aspect of it.

Melanie Morgan
Certified as an Open Water Diver in the Bay Islands of Honduras in 1989 Melanie Morgan has long been facinated with the underwater world. According to "Mel" she knew right after her first check our dive she was going to be an instructor. After six years of diving in the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico Mel was certified as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. Anyone who talks to her can tell she gets a lot of satisfaction from teaching scuba diving. Mel is great at any course she teaches but is at her best when dealing with younger students and the student that needs extra help and practice. An avid under water photographer, Mel is very happy to share her secrets with aspiring photographers.
